چکیده

BACKGROUND Millisecond pulse duration 1064-nm Neodymium:YAG (Nd:YAG) lasers have been shown to be effective in the treatment of some lower leg telangiectases. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the efficacy and complication rate of a millisecond pulse duration 1064-nm Nd:YAG laser in the treatment of facial telangiectases. METHODS Fifteen subjects were evaluated. RESULTS Moderate to significant improvement was seen in 73% patients at day 30 and in 80% of patients at 3 months. These results were seen in the treatment of both blue/red and red facial telangiectases. CONCLUSION The millisecond pulse duration 1064-nm Nd:YAG laser is effective for treatment of facial telangiectases.

Clinical comparison of sclerotherapy versus long-pulsed Nd:YAG laser treatment for lower extremity telangiectases.

BACKGROUND Sclerotherapy has traditionally been considered the gold standard of treatment for leg veins, but patient fear of multiple needle injections and side effects of treatment have fueled investigation into other treatment alternatives. As a result, vascular-specific laser and light sources have been developed in an effort to treat these vessels with minimal morbidity and improved efficac...

Laser treatment of onychomycosis using a novel 0.65-millisecond pulsed Nd:YAG 1064-nm laser.

Onychomycosis is a common disorder of the nails. Treatment modalities include oral and topical antifungals, surgical treatment or a combination of these therapies. Cure rates remain low with relatively high relapse rates seen after successful treatment. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the treatment of onychomycosis using a novel 0.65-millisecond (ms) pulsed 1064-nm laser. Eight subjec...

Comparison of Q-Switched 1064-nm Nd: YAG laser and fractional CO2 laser efficacies on improvement of atrophic facial acne scar*

BACKGROUND Acne scarring is treatable by a variety of modalities. Ablative carbon dioxide laser (ACL), while effective, is associated with undesirable side effect profiles. Newer modalities using the principles of fractional photothermolysis (FP) produce modest results than traditional carbon dioxide (CO(2)) lasers but with fewer side effects. A novel ablative CO(2) laser device use a technique...

Combination 532-nm and 1064-nm lasers for noninvasive skin rejuvenation and toning.

BACKGROUND Noninvasive techniques for skin rejuvenation are quickly becoming standard in the treatment of mild rhytids and overall skin toning. Multiple laser wavelengths and modalities have been used with varying degrees of success, including 532-nm, 585-nm, 1064-nm, 1320-nm, 1450-nm, and 1540-nm wavelengths. OBJECTIVES To evaluate a combination technique using a long-pulsed, 532-nm potassiu...
